Info needed on Co-op E3

Hi folks- an elderly friend of mine has what he thinks is a 1948 Co-op E3 tractor that he wants me to try and help him sell. I thought I might try and find out the exact year by the serial number but since I am a John Deere guy and have been for almost 30 years and I must confess I don't know much about Co-op tractors or where to look up serial number info, etc. I think I found the serial number on a casting boss on the top of the tranmission housing in front of the seat. The numbers are 6870 followed by a space and then A1719. Does anyone have any info to give me based on those numbers? Thanks! Dennis

we need the numbers off the top of the engine tup on the left side. the left side when your sitting in the seat. jason
