Cockshutt Continental 1850- I need to remove the pto gear housing The main gasket is leaking and the pto will not shift from 1000 rpm to 540rpm. I have managed to remove the intermediate short shaft from the upper pto (engine rpm) and extract the drive shaft from the fly wheel. The drive shaft is now extending about 6 or 7 inches out of the upper pto. I have disconnected the pto shift lever. I am able to back the gear housing away from the differential bady about 2 inches. This is where everything stops. It seems to be hung up on something. I will appreciate and be grateful for any advice, especially if someone had a service manual. I need this tractor yesterday, the sun is shinin' and there's hay to be made....
