need a distributor for 540

I have been looking for a replacement distributor for my 540. I have been having problems trying to get it running, and believe my problem my be in the distributor. It is a Delco 1111717.

I purchased this distributor and had to send it back. It would not mount up to my engine. There is a shaft extension that is required for the install that Continental says does not exist.

Don't know if you have got a fix for this yet, but Farm Services does rebuild them.
