I have to crank my 30 for what seems like 3-4 seconds before it fires. And it is a beast to start when it is below freezing. It does run just fine when it's started. I have a pertronix electronic ignition kit (including the coil). I suspect it is a timing issue but maybe some of you have experienced this and have another explanation. It blows smoke when it starts and I noticed the almost new plugs were dirtier than they should be--hence my thinking about the timing being too advanced. I have adjusted the carb so I don't think the mixture is an issue.
I am thinking its a carb issue Daniel...running too rich, maybe the float level is off etc....I would suggest calling Phil Heisey ( 215.256.8651) as he will know something about this...Jeff
