I finally got a parts manual only to discover that the Bosch pump is supposed to have a THIRD fuel filter.
My Bosch pump, pictured below, has this line that loops from upper right part of the pump to the lower right part of the pump. Is this third fuel filter supposed to go on this line?
Can anyone post a diagram of how it is to be plumbed in correctly?
Thank you for the info. Yes apparently the bottom of the loopy line should go into the top of the third filter, and the out line from that filter goes into the Bosch pump where the top of the loopy line goes. I finally found a place that had some 570 Diesels wrecked and all the Bosch pumps were plumbed just like mine - EXCEPT one!! One tractor still had the third filter hooked up. I suppose that third filter is more expensive that the others!!
Yet, I've also heard that the Third filter is the MOST important one!!
I'm still a bit confused! If it is really an important filter, just what does it do that the other 2 filters don't do? And why just on the Bosch pump? The Roosa doesn't require the third filter.
Yea NAPA has the filter I think it is a 3191 cost around $30 it is concidered the final filter and has a finer micron filter media to help reduce wear on the pump and injectors.
