Ever since I put that thinner head gasket on my 50 gas, I've got considerable piston slap...does a thicker oil help with this at all? Synthetic oil? It is not bad, just looking for a way to quite it down a bit. Buda guys any tips?
Did that slap start after the new gasket? Are the pistons contacting the head. I would pull it to be sure and not run it that way. Could be the rod bearings are loose and there's extra up travel. The thin gasket just exposed it. Not an expert here, just my thoughts and trying to help out another Ohio guy.
