Cockshutt 30 gearshift

the gear shift moves all around in circles instead of in a precise gear shift pattern. 

For example I need to push the shifter to the left with my foot to get it in Reverse. 

Any thoughts out There?

Pull the boot up and have a look.  There should be a pin or some kind of key to engage the ball on the lever to keep it from rotating.  They often get real sloppy or break.  Contact my email through this site and I can email you the page from the parts book.
