I've already asked a couple of people about this, but am looking for as much information as I can find on the subject.

My 550 doesn't have the flyball type governor on the front of the cam gear as listed in the parts book.  Rather, it has a Hoof Products governor mounted on the center of the front cover.  This doesn't appear to be a hack job, so I think it was stock on something, I'm just not sure whether it's stock on this tractor.  What do you all know about this setup?  Stock, factory upgrade, field repair?  Are these necessarily better or worse than the flyball type listed in the parts book?
