I HAVE A 540 MY 3 POINT WON'T GO UP AND DOWN. MAKES NO NOISE OR MOVEMENT AT ALL. FLUID IS GOOD AND FULL.I PULLED THE COVER AND FOUND THE PISTON [THAT MOVES WITH LEVER] OVER EXTENDED TOWARD THE REAR AND SOMEWHAT STUCK BUT LEVER MOVES SMOOTHLY.I TAPPED IT BACK IN LIGHTLY AND MOVES SMOOTHLY NOW.PUT COVER ON AND FILLED BUT STILL DOESNT WORK THE 3 POINT.
Did it just stop working? While you had the cover off did you check or replace the filter? I would suggest changing the filter then if it still doesn't work install a gauge in the high pressure line coming off the pump and see if the pump is working. There is a woodruff key on the pump drive gear that may have sheared. You might want to go to the Tech section, I have added a link so you can look up part pictures and numbers and see how the various parts of the tractor are put together.
I JUST GOT THE TRACTOR AND EVERYTHING WORKS BUT THE 3 POINT. IT LOOKS LIKE THE 3POINT WAS NEVER USED. I DID NOT REPLACE THE FILTER. IS IT THE ONE IN FRONT OF THE COVER 2 INCH ROUND 6 INCH LONG? I DID LOOSEN THE FITTING AND STARTED THE TRACTOR, AT IDOL FLUID CAME OUT SLOWLY,ONLY RAN IT A FEW SECONDS.IF I PUT A GAGE HOW MUCH PRESSURE SHOULD THERE BE?
Yes filter is in the tube you described. As for the pressure, the the relief is to be set at 1500psi to 1650psi so I would believe the pump is capable of at least 2000psi.
