1971 White 1370 Four Wheel Drive Hard Starting

Hi:

 

I have a 1971 White 1370 that is hard to start. I can tow it one revolution of the tire and it will start no problem but trying to start on it's own is difficult.What happens when trying to start on its own is that the fourth cylinder looses it's compression and the engine stops turning over.

Any ideas except a engine overhaul ?

i'd try a starter they were known for dragging and causing slow cranking speed.good place for parts is import tractor parts.
