Power steering pictures

Does anyone have any pictures of a power steering setup on a 50. I'm thinking about rigging one up and want it to look as close to stock as possible.  isaackeever@gmail.com

I would recommend you use aftermarket parts. The factory stuff sucks!!!! I have two 50's. The one with manual steering steers easier than the one with power steering. The only time the one with P/S steers good is when it is cold and you give it full throttle. Get a parts book, it has some good illustrations. Tractor_Pictures_003.jpg Good luck!

Thank you...Is there a bracket where the right side cylinder mounts to the front axle? Or is it part of the cylinder (cast). I know the other side mounts to the hole in the tie rod...Any chance I could get rough measurements of that cylinder full extend and closed? Does that cylinder include some sort of built in valve that senses what way you want to wheel to turn...like the old massys? thanks

Yes, the R.H. end of the cylinder mounts to the axle on an L-shaped bracket that bolts on to the same bolt as the wishbone and the empty hole next to it. The cylinder is 31&half inches long (when driving straight forward) from center to center of each tie-rod end mounting with 5in. of travel in each direction. Yes, the cylinder has a sensor in it to direct the oil pressure to the proper side. Also, the pitman arm is straighter than the std. steering pitman arm and only has one hole in it instead of two.  hope this helps!  Oh yaa.....my '55 50 has the '56-'58 style P.S. on it. The '54-'55 style is slightly different. Here again, I suggest you buy a parts book as it has excellent pictures in it.
