compiling a list of services, parts and needs for my restore, and found most of the consumables between steiner and CL. but I have no luck finding clutches and brakes. PTO and drive clutch aren't bad, but the brakes are shot. I want to replace all this when I do the restore. Any thoughts?
Phil Heisey has what you need. Some times he is slow to respond because he works a fulltime regular job and Cockshutt parts are a sideline. If you are in a hurry take your cores to your local auto parts store (a real auto parts store not a China crap store) and have them take them to their rebuilder.
Thanks folks! Will look at those PDF files when I get a chance, phone is a little slow to open them here at work. I'll get ahold of Phil about the other parts.
Can anyone give me some info On the rear wheels? I would like to buy new rear rims but can't figure out what I'm looking for, I searched for cockshutt wheels as well as 38" 8 loop but have had no luck. So if née be I will buy bare wheels and weld the loops, I'm not sure what I am looking for though, or how to speck them.
I have a '46 and '50 E3s. They used different rims but yours being a '50 should have the flat center rims. I have a rusted out rim that I can cut the lugs off of. They are riveted to the rim.
Thanks for the link, seems like that's what I'm looking for, however I was going to replace the tires with the original 11.2x38 or the current 12.4x38 I'm not so sire the original wheels are 12" wide, I'll have to measure. Just guessing I would say 10.5-11" but I'll check to see, thanks again.
Is there anyone out here with the time to send me pictures of there E3 1950era I have began the year down and with some help searching for parts from Mr. Buttery (I think he's on here) I have began good success so far in my searches. However have found that quite a few parts are not original. I understand that the voltage reg and generator are not original, and realized that my grandfather has a makeshift hydraulic lever setup. Basically I want this thing to look as the day it left the factory and any help would be great. So if your willing to send me pics c.meador1984@gmail.com
Big areas are the generator side engine, dash area, hydraulics (really the plumbing from the pump. And lines as they travel to the rear. Thanks a lot ahead of time
